Protein is the most important macronutrient while dieting, but throw these shakes out the window.
One, they usually aren’t very good and you’ll have to add quite a few other ingredients to them so they don’t taste like hot garbage – increasing the calories significantly.
Two, drinking your calories on a diet is just a terrible idea. A shake is going to leave you way hungrier than if you actually ate those calories. Think about eating a bowl of protein oatmeal, compared to a shake. The more volume a meal has, the longer you’ll go without feeling hungry.
The less hungry you are throughout the day, the more likely you are to avoid eating the entire bowl of candy in the break room.
So save your money and drop the protein shakes. Your tastebuds will thank me.
