It’s possible to lose weight on a myriad of different diets.
But just because it’s possible, doesn’t make it optimal.
Can you imagine not eating carbs for your entire life?
How about eating out of tiny meal containers for every meal?
Or using a points system for the rest of your life?
Or how about a “cleanse” every couple of weeks for the rest of your life?
It’s possible to lose weight on these types of diets but good luck continuing with the methodology that they teach to keep the weight off. Thus not optimal.
I’ve been on the same “diet” for 4 years and with that diet, I’ve completed multiple weight loss phases, multiple muscle-building phases, and just maintained without changing my food or approach.
In a weight loss phase, my serving sizes are smaller. Muscle gaining phase, serving sizes are larger. Maintenance, the perfect amount of food.
My food never changes. It’s the same food, just smaller or larger portions. I can maintain this method of eating for the rest of my life.
Throw out your fad diets. You will lose weight on those programs but you won’t be able to keep it off and it won’t teach you how to properly eat for the rest of your life. Thus the yo-yo effect.
